Writing my blog, reading other people's blogs, virtually designing the nursery, giving myself a virtual makeover. If you read through my blog from last summer and fall, you'll see much of how I kept myself entertained for 5 months (July to November) of bedrest! TV online is easy too, especially if you end up on hospital bedrest. I also did some sewing and knitting. I loved it when friends came over to sit on the couch with me. I watched some movies, although by the end of my bedrest I was sick of TV. Once I was in the hospital, all medicine related TV shows became much more interesting. I tried to read, but honestly didn't read much other than medical websites!! I set up a great pandora music channel and music on a lot. Really helped the hours pass.

Another thing to figure out is everything you can do on modified bed rest. Ask for a disabled parking permit - it will make it easier to do things that you have to do, like going to MFM. Or buying food. And figure out all of the stores that have wheelchairs or powerchairs available. Nordstroms has the most comfortable wheelchairs at Bell Square. Mark would take me to the mall with both of the boys and push me around so I could get some fresh air. Ikea, Whole Foods, Costco and Target all have power chairs you can borrow. At first I felt silly - especially at Target where the chairs beep like a construction truck when you have to back up and everyone, I mean everyone, turns around to figure out what that pregnant lady is doing - but after a while, I didn't really care what anyone else thought. Just taking care of our little bean!

We would have friends come over to play with our kids when I didn't have the nanny or grandmas helping. We asked people who wanted to help to bring us meals for our freezer. I ordered grocries from safeway.com - although I think amazon fresh is probably better if you have it in the highlands.

For TV, other than the hospital shows, I think I watched a lot of reality house and baby related shows. I thought it was sort of fun to watch shows like America's Next Top Model or The Biggest Looser where everyone is skinny or trying to be skinny while I was stuffing myself with protein snacks.

Speaking of that, I never did get used to the whey protein shakes. They still make me gag. I think someone should make a high-protein ice cream for pregnant mammas!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7059035808866051483.post-27075450843793568782009-07-06T04:53:31.383-07:002009-07-06T04:53:31.383-07:00I wanted to let you know that I nominated for an a...I wanted to let you know that I nominated for an award on my blog. :)Jillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07224578567273119115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7059035808866051483.post-53471273348778274692009-07-04T14:23:30.964-07:002009-07-04T14:23:30.964-07:00Hey - Happy 4th of July! I have enjoyed Anita Shreve's books as well as Jodi Piccoult. Can't say enough about Twilight. Do you network on multiples message boards? Online games, knitting, start a scrapbook, organize all your digital photos...
Hope that helps! Don't overdo it in the next few weeks!Emilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08740939355597069712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7059035808866051483.post-33015219156105709592009-06-30T15:54:08.743-07:002009-06-30T15:54:08.743-07:00YAY for a good appointment and a great cervix;) I ...YAY for a good appointment and a great cervix;) I would definately suggest that you get netflix. I'm expecting twins and I've had the same worry. I've been giving bed rest a lot of thought recently in anticipation of having to do it at some point. A friend of mine had a good idea and suggested that I create some art work for the nursery. I'm not sure if you are artistic or not but it's a good creative outlet and something personal that you made for your boys?Suzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01416602666916380706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7059035808866051483.post-53082733192256153422009-06-29T23:38:48.132-07:002009-06-29T23:38:48.132-07:00Have you read the Twilight series? Definitely learn to knit - baby hats are super easy, and you can make them 3 at a time. :) Read anything by Maeve Binchy and Rosamunde Pilcher; light enough for brain candy, but British, which makes me feel that they are somehow elevated. Visit the "Go Fug Yourself" website and vote on truly hideous celebrity fashion. I would probably re-read the whole 'Anne of Green Gables' series, which was my favorite as a child (and probably won't be a big boy favorite, so you might not see it for awhile). I think I might also visit kiva.org and make micro-loans: doesn't take much money, but just as fun as shopping websites with no guilt. :)babyinterruptedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09691284568281459525noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7059035808866051483.post-28445877960476886892009-06-29T18:20:13.079-07:002009-06-29T18:20:13.079-07:00I love cross-stitching... you could make the boys ...I love cross-stitching... you could make the boys their Christmas stockings!!Dan & Hillaryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02322411767813043827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7059035808866051483.post-56449565581426520202009-06-29T18:10:09.777-07:002009-06-29T18:10:09.777-07:00If you don't already watch them, I love Entour...If you don't already watch them, I love Entourage, Big Love, and Weeds.
