I would like to dedicate this post to Air Conditioning, without which I would not be able to function in the humid, 95 degree Seattle weather. Even with it I am still too hot and cannot sleep at night, but I am so thankful we have it at all.
Okay, back to your regularly scheduled programing.
I saw the boys today, and they look great! Still no signs of TTTS, and my cervix is... wait for it... still over 3.5! This is wonderful news. Dr. P has returned from abroad, and she had no idea I'd be waiting with an itemized list of questions for her. That'll teach her to take a family vacation! (I am really kidding and eternally grateful to her for all her excellent care). Here are some of the highlights:
- I got in trouble for losing a pound. Must drink more protein shakes.
- She is thrilled with my "competent" cervix and said it is doing a nice job... let's hope it continues to do so!
- She said, in a triplet pregnancy at 21 weeks, this is the best case scenario. My bed rest and meds are controlling the contractions and she said I could stay like this (modified bed rest) until the end as long as all continues the same.
- She told me that we need to pick a day for my C-section. I almost fainted! Is this really happening? She said to choose a day the week of Halloween and we will make it our goal. I keep thinking of how our daughter could visit me in her costume and then go trick-or-treating with Daddy. Makes me smile from ear to ear. If I go into labor before then and we cannot stop it, they will do an emergency C-section, but we will aim for our C-section date.
- I felt SO much movement out of B last night! It felt like he was kicking constantly for an hour and at one point, I felt his feet sticking out. At the appointment, we saw that he has flipped himself completely back to head down position. That takes some effort given the space considerations.
Everything (aside from the enormous growth every day) has stayed the same which is JUST how we want it. I am feeling more hopeful, hoping my boys make it, hoping they will come home with me in a few short months.
Me and the boys at 21 weeks:
In this picture, it looks like A (on the right) is whispering to B, or maybe giving him a little kiss. Regardless, this picture makes me smile- to see them snuggling together is hopefully, a glimpse of what is to come.
Here is Little C, oblivious to A and B's shenanigans. Could his nose BE any cuter?
they ARE adorable! :) good going with all the fantastic news, mama!
ReplyDeleteSoooo cute! Thats so exciting to be setting a C-section date!!! :) Yayyy!
ReplyDeleteAs always, you look fabulous! I'm glad that your appointment went well and that your doc is back. Halloween babies... how cool is that?
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to hear that everything is going good and that your cervix is behaving as it should! I feel ya with this heat. I can't seem to keep cool and the nights are the worst! I guess that's what we get when we are baking three little ones in the middle of the summer! I love the U/S pics. They are too too sweet. Keep up the good work mama! :)
ReplyDeleteCould they be any cuter! That's wonderful that all is going so well and your cervix is doing wonderfully! I only pray that it will hold out and continue to do so well for you.. Beautiful babies.. I can't believe that you'll have the babies before me and I and due before you, lol. How cool!
ReplyDeleteThey are SO cute, as is your belly!
ReplyDeleteHooray for your competent cervix!
ReplyDeleteHey, is that picture-in-picture on C's ultrasound? My husband would request ESPN on the little picture. He tends to get sleepy during the hourlong ultrasounds -- something about the room being dark.
I wish that our A/C was working as well as yours (installed last year, so really no excuse aside from the ducts not being designed for maximum air flow and the house being too big). After suffering for the few days of summer we've had, DH finally decided to splurge and turn on the A/C -- and it's barely helping. Which is why I spent much of today in the cool glorious basement.
Great pictures, A and B are so cute snuggling up!! So pleased your cervix is behaving!
ReplyDeleteTake care
So glad to hear you're hanging in there and all is going as planned!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos - how cool! You look great! Take care!
ReplyDeleteI would also like to chime in and dedicate this comment to your A/C (and mine...don't want to leave anyone out of course). I am so glad our central A/C followed us when we moved to Haiti. Oh wait. We didn't. Where ARE we?! Certainly not our beloved, temperate PNW!
ReplyDeleteOn to less silly matters, but much cuter matters such as, 1) your belly and 2) your CUTE babies!!!
Oh my goodness your belly is fantastic and adorable. And those boys of yours, just LOOK at them. I can hardly contain my happiness! Three healthy boys growing inside you!!! WOOT! You are doing a great job and I'm so happy to hear that they are thriving and doing awesome.
xoxo
P.S. - What woman pregnant with TRIPLETS actually manages to LOSE a pound? And no stretch marks? Are you an alien? ;) Btw, the one of the two boys nuzzling each other is so cute I teared up.
ReplyDeleteSo glad your health and the babies and right on track! That is so amazing. LOVE the pics of the babes - Doesn't it just make you want to squeeze your belly to hug them. BTW - you look AMAZING! ANd thanks for stopping by my blog - you are a doll!
ReplyDeleteThat's all wonderful news!! I am so glad that things are progressing smoothly for you. After you pick the c-section date, you can have a really accurate (let's hope!) day to count down to. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, and I *heart* my AC too. Every morning I say a prayer for the previous owners of our house who installed it. I wouldn't be functioning in this heat without it!
Good appt! I always go to mine with a list of questions/concerns. Surprising huh?
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are great! I agree it looks like a little kiss from A to B. And C does have the cutest nose.
I'm glad they are so active. I love to feel the actual limb protruding. It makes me laugh because it is so unbelievable that's in my body. Amazing.
You look so good! Are you getting uncomfortable at all? You're doing great.
I'm so glad you're doing great and the boys are behaving ; )
ReplyDeleteHalloween week c-section sounds great...what fun bday parties they'll have growing up!
Hi - CONGRATULATIONS!! We are also in the Seattle area and I was hoping to find out which clinic you used and Dr? I am looking for some references. Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone is interested in finding out about our fertility or MFM clinics, please leave me your email in a comment so I can send you some info (especially if you are Anonymous!) Thanks, Carrie
ReplyDeleteI LOVE C's nose :) You look AWESOME btw!
ReplyDeleteStay cool! I can't believe it's 89F here already!
ReplyDeleteHello! Congrats on the triplets! I just started my own blog and found yours on here. I am also pregnant with triplets and am 21 weeks along! Just thought it was funny how similar our stories are! Hope things continue to go well for you.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!! Total cuteness.
ReplyDeleteI am laughing a little because at a week behind you with a singleton, I look about a trimester behind you. That is some serious growing you're doing!!
I'm so glad to hear that your cervix is behaving and all is going well.
YAY!!!! What a great report!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad all is well with the little men;) You look great..ALL belly. The rest of you doesn't even look pregnant;) The babies are adorable I love the new pics. ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteLove the ultrasound pics!
ReplyDeleteI got in trouble for my weight as well. Then they had me drinking 2 carnation instant breakfast drinks a day one at night before bed. The weight just started going on and I no longer get in trouble anymore. :)
So glad your cervix is still doing well! That's very good news.
You get a c-section date? SO jealous I'm on hosptial bedrest & they won't talk scheduled c-section until maybe next week. LOL I was on modified bed rest all the way up until last Tuesday when I was put on lockdown.
Keep up the good work!
3.5 is a great length - wtg!
ReplyDeleteDitto to the comment above me - lived off of carnation instant breakfasts
and humid hot weather is a PITA... yuck.
OMG, Carrie. That pic of A & B is just precious! So glad everything is going well. It looks like we are on the same Dr. schedule, I am just 3 weeks behind you. We are close too, after we get through this, it would be so fun to get together!
ReplyDeleteHi there. I love your blog. I am 12 weeks preg with triplets concieved on clomid. Glad you are doing well and your blog gives me hope :)

Aw! Love the pics. You are growing lil pumpkins!! I love fall and Halloween especially. How exciting to be picking a date :)
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic as always. My doc said for me to expect a huge growth spurt between 22-26w, I can't imagine what it will be like with trips!
SO, so glad to hear you have A/C. Holy hell, it is hot. And very glad to hear all the good news. I've been thinking about you the last few days in the heat wave but was away from the computer, so I'm delighted to come back and hear all the good stuff!
ReplyDeleteHi Carrie, I am the one who was hoping to get more information regarding your Fertility clinic. Your input would be invaluable to me as we are just about to make some very big decisions. You can email me at roadnew@hotmail.com - thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you!!
ReplyDeleteWow, we ARE "wonderfully made"! So happy things are progressing well for you; I keep you (all) in my prayers. Hope to be able to see you, when I'm with your Mom this weekend...Vicki Mills
ReplyDeleteLove the pics. Your boys are cuties. My doctor told me you will lose weight when you go on bedrest. So, maybe thats what's happening. I'm curious...How do you know the difference between who's moving and who's not? Do they always stay in their same spot?
