I Wanna be Sedated

Okay, here we are, 3dp5dt (or, three days past a five day embryo transfer) and I am already freaking out. I am so worried (see Wemberly posts) that it did not work. I am finding myself with all this nervous energy, but I am supposed to rest a lot to help with the OHSS. I could seriously reorganize the whole house with these nerves! The other side of the nervousness is the snappy, intolerant attitude I have about almost everything.

I can't stop combing blogs for symptoms, success stories, and really, someone should take my laptop away. Or at least turn off the damn Wi-Fi. I have already emailed my favorite nurse asking if cramping was normal and if the OHSS going away meant I am not pregnant. She was very soothing, reminding me that cramps are quite normal, and the OHSS can come and go, or simply go, even if I am pregnant. She said she'd wondered if she'd hear from me today as she'd grown "accustomed" to my daily emails full of questions. I HEART her and must bake her cookies immediately. See what I mean about the nervous energy?

This about summarizes my attitude for today (and possibly until 8 am on Monday the 30th). You know the Ramones?

"Twenty-twenty-twenty four hours to go I wanna be sedated
Nothin' to do and no where to go-o-oh I wanna be sedated
Just get me to the airport put me on a plane
Hurry hurry hurry before I go insane
I can't control my fingers I can't control my brain
Oh no no no no no"

  2. Ugh! The 2ww is so hard. Hang in there the 30th will be here (with good news) before you know it. I'd say stay off the internet, but I know that is impossible. It's the first thing I go to when I'm obsessing.

  4. Oh, I can't even imagine. I've almost blocked the memories of the torturous 2WW out of my mind. I cannot even fathom what an IVF 2WW is like....aaahhhh.

    I love that song. :-)

  5. Waiting bites - any way you look at it. I was quite crampy all the way through and got a +ve 6dp5dt. I am crampy still - and am going in for an early ultrasound to see if everything is A-ok. As far as I know cramps good.

  6. Love that song! And it sums up how I always feel during the 2WW, as well! ;)

Thank you so much for your awesome support right now.

I'm SO glad that your transfer went well, and two beautiful embies are hanging out in your uterus. Crossing EVERYTHING for you!

  7. Waiting is the hardest part for me. If I was doing something, then at least I would feel there is something to do. But waiting is just...waiting.

  9. I would be going nuts too. Do you have a favourite TV or DVD series you can get lost in. Or read the Harry Potter books - which are really easy and most entertaining. I find reading is the best to get my mind off the obsessive stuff.
    Good luck!!!

  10. I love that your nurse was missing your daily e-mails!! I can't tell if mine likes me or thinks I'm a giant pain in the butt.

Anyway, hang in there! I would second the recommendation for an absorbing TV show -- time to rent the first 4 seasons of Lost if you haven't seen them yet! (Or Six Feet Under, which is my current sedative.)
